How ultraviolet disinfection works
Water flows through a stainless chamber past a UV-C lamp housed in a quartz sleeve. The dose of ultraviolet light scrambles the DNA of bacteria and viruses so they cannot reproduce or cause illness.
Nothing is added and nothing is left behind, which is why UV is the standard choice when a homeowner wants disinfection without chlorinating their own well.
Clear water in, clean water out
UV only works on water it can shine through. Sediment, iron and turbidity shield organisms from the lamp, which is why we always place UV last, behind pre-filtration and any iron treatment.
At the annual service we swap the lamp, wipe the quartz sleeve and confirm the controller is reading correct lamp hours.
Warranty and guarantee
The stainless UV chamber and controller are covered for life for the original homeowner. The lamp and quartz sleeve are annual consumables, and we will remind you before the lamp times out. Installation workmanship carries a one year warranty from our licensed plumber. Made in the USA.

Does UV change the taste of my water?
No. Ultraviolet light adds nothing to the water, so taste, odor and mineral content are unchanged.
How often does the lamp need replacing?
Once a year. Output fades before the lamp fails visibly, so we replace on schedule rather than waiting for it to go dark.
Do I need UV on Austin city water?
Generally no. Municipal supplies are already disinfected. UV is for wells, rainwater collection and small private systems.
