Tankless versus tank reverse osmosis
A classic RO makes water slowly and stores it in a pressurized tank. That works well for most families, but the tank takes up cabinet space and the last of the water can taste flat if it has been sitting.
A tankless unit produces at the moment you open the faucet, so every glass is freshly made and the cabinet stays usable. The tradeoff is that it needs an electrical outlet nearby.

Does the tankless RO need electricity?
Yes. It uses a booster pump to produce on demand, so we need a standard outlet inside or near the sink cabinet.
How is it different from the RO-5?
The RO-5 stores water in a tank and does not need power. The tankless unit makes water on demand at 800 GPD, saves cabinet space and shows TDS on a display.
Can it feed my refrigerator ice maker?
Yes. We can tee the output to the refrigerator during the same visit when the run is reasonable.
