What the XL filter actually changes in the house

Scale is the expensive part of hard water. It plates the inside of the water heater, glazes shower doors, seizes fixture cartridges and shortens the life of every appliance that touches water. Removing hardness at the main line stops that damage before it starts.

The carbon stage is what you notice first. Chloramine reduction changes how the shower smells, how coffee tastes and how skin feels after bathing, which is the single most common comment we get in the first week after an install.

  • No more scale rings in the kettle, sinks or shower glass
  • Soap, shampoo and detergent use drops by more than half
  • Water heater and dishwasher run on conditioned water
  • Chlorine and chloramine smell gone at every fixture

Built for Central Texas water chemistry

Hardness in the region swings by utility and by season, and blended surface and groundwater sources make a fixed configuration a bad bet. We measure at the address and program the valve to match, then confirm the numbers again after the flush.

Every tank is packed, pressure tested and documented before it leaves the shop, so the unit arriving at your house is the unit we already verified.

Warranty and guarantee

The XL tank, its media vessel and the metered control valve are covered for life for the original homeowner at the installed address. Our licensed, insured and bonded plumber warrants the bypass, loop and drain work for a year. The carbon and resin bed is a wear item replaced on a service interval, not a warranty claim. Built in the USA.

Frequently asked questions

Does the XL filter remove chloramine or only chlorine?

Both. The carbon media is selected for chloramine reduction, which is what most Austin area utilities actually use for disinfection.

How often do I add salt?

Most Central Texas households add salt every two to three months. The metered valve regenerates on demand rather than on a timer, which keeps salt use low.

Can it be installed if I do not have a softener loop?

Yes. Our licensed plumber can add a loop at the main line. We confirm the location and the price before install day.
