What reverse osmosis removes from Central Texas tap water
Reverse osmosis pushes water through a semipermeable membrane with openings small enough to reject dissolved contaminants thousands of times smaller than a human hair. Clean water passes through, the rest goes to the drain.
In practice that means the flat mineral taste, the chloramine bite and the contaminants people actually worry about all stop showing up in the glass.
- Dissolved solids, the source of flat or mineral heavy taste
- Lead and heavy metals picked up from older service lines
- Nitrate, common near agricultural land
- PFAS, chloramine and disinfection byproducts
Better paired with whole home treatment
Feeding an RO membrane with softened, dechlorinated water dramatically extends its life. Hardness scales the membrane and chloramine degrades it, so an RO running behind a CleanLine whole home system simply lasts longer.
That is why most customers choose the Complete Home Package rather than buying the RO-5 on its own, though we install it standalone whenever that is the right call for the house.
Installed the right way
A licensed plumber taps the cold line, mounts the unit and tank in the cabinet, drills and sets the dedicated faucet, ties in the drain and pressure tests the assembly before flushing it.
Remineralization if you want it
Reverse osmosis removes everything dissolved, including minerals some people like. The optional alkaline stage adds calcium and magnesium back for a rounder taste and slightly higher pH.
Warranty and guarantee
The RO-5 reverse osmosis system carries a 1 year manufacturer warranty for the original homeowner. The five filter stages and the membrane are consumables on a published change interval. Every under-sink connection, saddle and drain tie-in we make is warranted for one year. Made in the USA.

How often should the RO filters be replaced?
Pre-filters and the post carbon polish run about twelve months on Central Texas water. The membrane typically lasts three to five years. We track your install date and remind you.
Can you run a line to my refrigerator and ice maker?
Yes. We can tee the RO output to the fridge during the same visit when the run is reasonable.
Does the RO-5 fit under a standard kitchen sink?
Yes. The cabinet and tank are sized for a standard under sink space, and we confirm clearances during the free in home quote.
